Purchasing done below the $10,000 level, this is done without a formal solicitation process. We call around, check prices, and select a reasonable and reliable provider.
Most of our spending falls into this category, which includes purchases between $10,000 and $100,000. We generally run solicitations for purchasing at this level.
Any projects over $100,000 are mainly solicited through a sealed-bid process. The lowest, most responsible and responsive bidders are awarded contracts.
Certain contracts require a special skill set - architecture and engineering, accounting, and consulting to name a few. With these contracts, we'll gauge your knowledge first and negotiate cost later.
