The purpose of Section 3 is to ensure that employment and other economic opportunities generated by certain HUD financial assistance shall, to the greatest extent feasible, be directed to low-and very low income persons, particularly those who are recipients of government assistance for housing.  Click below to learn how the KCHA meets this requirement.

Most of our spending falls into this category, which includes purchases between $10,000 and $100,000.  We generally run solicitations for purchasing at this level.

Any projects over $100,000 are mainly solicited through a sealed-bid process.  The lowest, most responsible and responsive bidders are awarded contracts.
